Where Heritage Lives
The castle itself, both understated and monumental, stands like an anchor in the landscape. Surrounding it: the tithe barn, the servants' quarters, the old bakery, and the tenant's cottage. What were once functional parts of a self-sufficient farmstead are now heritage elements with a new purpose—respectfully restored, without smoothing over the past.
The Castle as a Home
Part of the castle is currently occupied by the Van der Meer family, who watch over the estate with care and dedication.
Their presence gives the castle a new soul: where daily life and heritage intersect.
What for centuries was a place of work, silence, and status has once again become a home—with respect for the past and an eye to the future.

Lakewell Automotive Heritage
The castle's outbuildings house Lakewell, an internationally renowned workshop specializing in the restoration of interior components for classic cars. Under the leadership of the undersigned, Lakewell has grown into a world-renowned company where craftsmanship, detail, and a love of automotive heritage are paramount. The choice to house the studio on the estate is no coincidence: the love for classical beauty — in stone and steel — comes together here in a shared mission.

Classic Car Events
Veulen Castle opens its private grounds several times a year for classic car events. Thanks to its close ties to Lakewell Automotive Heritage and the vision of the Van der Meer family, heritage is experienced here in motion. In addition to its own events—Hesbaye Classic Days and the Hesbaye Historic Festival—the estate also hosts other organizations and clubs that share a passion for classic elegance on wheels.
